About Nebu
I’m Youmna Elsabry, founder of Nebu Jewelry. Nebu means gold in hieroglyphics, and as an Egyptian, it was important for me to incorporate that into my brand. My history and heritage have always fascinated me, and jewelry felt like the perfect way to bring that passion to life.
When I first started making jewelry, I was amazed by how much time and effort go into creating a single piece. The deeper I explored, the more I fell in love with ancient techniques like filigree and granulation—intricate methods that take years to master and result in pieces that truly make a statement. With mass production taking over, these techniques are slowly fading, and I feel a deep responsibility to help preserve them. There’s something incredibly special about wearing a piece that carries the soul of ancient craftsmanship.
Being Egyptian, I naturally draw inspiration from my heritage—whether it’s the powerful symbolism of ancient jewelry or the charm of traditional peasant pieces. My background as a dentist also played an unexpected role, helping me develop the fine hand skills needed for intricate jewelry-making.
Every piece I create is a reflection of my love for history, artistry, and the beauty of handmade craftsmanship.
